Who’s Playing the PokerGO Tour PLO Series for PokerStake?
Who’s Playing the PokerGO Tour PLO Series for PokerStake?

The PokerGO Tour returns to tournament action next week as the PGT PLO Series kicks off in Las Vegas at the PokerGO Studio at ARIA. Four PokerStake players are taking to the felt in a variety of the festival’s events. We’ve taken a look at each of the four players and their Pot Limit Omaha credentials in the four-card game. You can stake each of them from the comfort of your own home this coming week.

Pantaleo and Nguyen Offer Value

The German player Giuseppe Pantaleo is sure to be a big presence at the 2025 PGT PLO Series, not least because of his vast experience playing the poker format. Of his $2.1m in live tournament earnings, Pantaleo’s recent big wins have come in PLO, with an eighth-place finish at the $10,000-entry WPT PLO World Championship in December last year among them.

Pantaleo is selling to Events #1, #2, #3, #4 and #6, with buy-ins ranging from $5,300 to $10,500. Best of all, he’s selling at a markup of between just 1.05 and 1.10. The former WSOP Tag Team bracelet winner has made consistent runs in many majors and even balances his live experience in playing online PLO events too, such as the Venom series.

Another PLO crusher is Ky Nguyen, who is selling to Events #1 through #5 at present, with more possibly coming later in the series. Selling at between 1.05 and 1.10 too, Nguyen’s recent record is very strong, with a massive $1.2 million in lifetime winnings at the live felt.

Nguyen’s best cash was in the 2023 WPT Main Event in Los Angeles which he won for $357,380 after entering for just $5,250, signalling a huge return on his investment and the biggest win of his career to date. Nguyen also won $103,093 when he came 18th in the 2023 WSOP $50,000 PLOT High Roller event in Las Vegas which was eventually won by Jesse Lonis for $2.3m. Nguyen can hold his own at any level playing PLO.

Funkhouser and Arieh Examples of Experience

While Pantaleo and Nguyen are great picks, two other players offer equal hope for profit in Las Vegas in a few days’ time. David Funkhouser is selling at between 1.04 and 1.06 for Events #1 – #6, and the WSOP bracelet winner from 2024 is in irresistible form with four results worth a total of $190,000 in the last four weeks alone!

Finishing fourth in both the $10,000 Mori’s Mix and $10,000 8-Game Mix events at the recent PGT Mixed Games series, Funkhouser proved once again that in mixed games, he’s one of the most consistent players ever to look down at four cards. Funkhouser’s biggest ever results was the $200,356 he won coming second in the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better event in 2022, where he fell just short of the bracelet against Daniel Zack in the latter’s signature year in WSOP history. Funkhouser may fancy himself to add to his glut of titles in Las Vegas over the next week or so.

Finally, and by no means least, Josh Arieh takes on the best of the rest at PLO in a game format he’s crushed in recent years. Arieh – 103rd on the All-Time Money List on The Hendon Mob – banked over $220,000 in last month’s PGT Mixed Games Series without staying for the whole series, finishing second and seventh on his way to massive profit in 8-Game and H.O.R.S.E. Arieh’s last eight cashes came in mixed games, with five of them in PLO, including finishes of 2nd (twice), 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th.

Selling to Events #7 through #10, Arieh will be favorite to make profit, so don’t miss out on any of his action, which is sold at a markup of 1.15 across the board. As Josh told us in the days before he crushed at the PGT Mixed Games series, he enjoys 8-Game the best, because the variety and loves playing at the PokerGO Studio.

“Everything there is top notch. They have absolutely the best floor staff in the business, with great dealers that love their jobs and understand that they are in the big leagues.” He said.

How Can You Watch the PGT PLO Series?

The fifth PGT PLO Series takes place from Tuesday March 25 to Saturday April 5 at the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, with 11 PLO events on the schedule. Entry fees range from $5,100 to a Main Event costing $25,300 to enter. For the first time in a PGT PLO Series, a PLO Mystery Bounty event is on the ticket and all the events are a minimum of two days, with just Event #11 a single-day event.

All PGT PLO Series events have unlimited re-entries apart from the Main Event, which you can re-enter just twice. So who will join previous winners such as Lautaro Guerra (2023), Daniel Geeng (2023), Samuli Sipila (2024), and Matthew Wantman (2024)? The 2024 PGT Player of the Year Jeremy Ausmus will be among the favorites, and legends of the sport such as Daniel Negreanu, Nick Schulman and Jesse Lonis are all tipped to take part.

You can watch players such as the four PokerStake players, Bryce Yockey, Allan Le, and Ronald Kiejzer among others, and we’d expect to see PGT Leaderboard frontrunners such as Michael Moncek, Joao Simao, and Chino Rheem in the mix too. With the first ten events streamed as live at PokerGO.com from 4:00pm Eastern Time on March 26 through April 5th, you won’t want to miss a beat… especially if you’ve backed a PokerStake player for the win!
