WCOOP: UK’s ‘KaraageChicken’ Scores $196K After Chopping High Roller

Another busy day for the 2019 World Championship of Online Poker on Wednesday had 12 players pick up titles and one former World Champion get oh-so-close to winning his first WCOOP title.

The biggest winner of the day was British grinder ‘KaraageChicken‘ after chopping up Event #22 High ($5,200 No Limit Hold’em High Roller) with two other players. KaraageChicken took home $196,251 while Russian ‘Futti18‘ grabbed $182,414.81 for his runner-up result and Austrian ‘WATnlos‘ banked $166,740.33 as the third place finisher. The final table also included former #1-ranked Arsenii ‘josef_shvejk’ Karmatskiy earned $78,689.08 in fifth place, Sami ‘Lrslzk’ Kelopuro took home $$60,008.01 in sixth, and Conor ‘1_conor_b_1’ Beresford won $45,761.83 for finishing seventh.

Germany’s Claas ‘SsicK_OnE’ Segebrecht narrowly missed out on a six-figure score after beating 535 other players in Event #20 High ($1,050 No Limit Hold’em PKO) for $47,416.69 and $51,578.11 worth of bounties. Adrian ‘Amadi_017’ Mateos and Shaun Deeb also showed up at the final table, finishing eighth and ninth respectively.
Naoya ‘nkeyno’ Kihara of Japan won Event #23 High ($1,050 Razz) for $25,480 and in the process denied Adam ‘Adamyid’ Owen his second WCOOP title of the week. Owen took home $17,680 for finishing second, one spot ahead of former #1-ranked Calvin ‘cal42688’ Anderson who won $13,520 to move past $7.6 million in lifetime earnings.
‘MLS20‘ won Event #24 High ($2,100 No Limit Hold’em 6 Max) for $119,539.24. Runner-up ‘calculer_‘ ended up with $87,034.81 while ‘JK-GuRRuNEAA‘ won $63,368.83 for finishing third.
Francisco ‘Tomatee’ Benitez took down Event #22 Medium ($530 No Limit Hold’em Super Tuesday Special Edition) for $156,832.32 but only after chopping heads-up with 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Pius ‘MastaP89’ Heinz. Heinz took hom $144,33.86.
