Tournament Review For March 31, 2014
The 2014 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Challenge featured nine events over the weekend, with PocketFives members taking home a substantial amount of the prize money. In the $2,000+100 NLHE Main Event, pktsebensof Australia (pictured) made a strong case for getting back into the Top 500 worldwide rankings with a 3rd place showing for $292,320. DavidBakesBaker finished 6th for $121,800 whilejbrown8777collected $56,480 for his 8th place effort. The $2 Million Guaranteed tournament that was labeled as the “Special Edition” of the Sunday Million sawwillw12345come out on top for a payday of $230,000 as a result of a four-way final table deal. The Netherlands’dimanche205earned $97,056 for 5th place.
WCOOP Challenge Event #7 consisted of a Pot Limit Omaha tournament with 1 Rebuy and 1 Add-On.Ariados of Sweden was the runner-up for $110,230 and Orjan athilla Skommo of Norway (pictured) had a 3rd place showing for $80,704.
The Stars weekly Sunday 500 was won by rmoriar1, who will likely improve on his all-time highest online tournament ranking thanks to his score of $90,270. Meanwhile JamesEpictetus Flowers of Canada finished 3rd in that event for $49,685
The FTOPS kicked off at Full Tilt Pokerover the weekend and PocketFivers took home the three top spots in the $200+15 NLHE Re-Entry Event #1, led by AndreyZaya Zaichenko of the Russian Federation. Andrey chopped heads-up and won $91,729 while fellow member ekziter (who is currently ranked #16 worldwide) finished 2nd for $85,805. Third place went to Germany’s pappadogg, who walked away with $50,160.
