Chris Moorman is easily one of the most – if not the most – decorated players in PocketFives history. He’s been the #1-ranked player 13 different times and has held that spot for a combined 23 weeks. He was the first player to break $10 million and $15 million in lifetime earnings.

On the heels of the 2018 World Series of Poker, the month of August is usually a reset for many in the poker world after they take some time to recharge from the strenuous Vegas grind. That doesn’t mean the news slows down, though. Here are PocketFives’ top stories from August.

Brazil’s Henrique Bastos Coutinho came through a 5,490 player field to bank $148,292 and become this week’s PokerStars Sunday Million champion. Playing under the alias ‘Galochina10‘ he was able to beat ‘it.happ3ns.‘ into second-place for $104,064, with ‘mrAndreeew‘ taking away $73,028 in third-place. The win for Coutinho meant he smashed his previous best recorded online cash of $10,244 by some margin.

The long reign of ‘C Darwin2‘ is over. For the first time in 2018, a new name sits atop the PocketFives Rankings and it took a schedule packed with PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker and partypoker Powerfest events to make it happen.

While Sunday marked the beginning of both partypoker Powerfest and the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker, the headlines instead went to ‘Bencb789‘, who came second in the 888poker $100,000 Sunday Whale for $23,680 and helped ‘Team BITBRYE‘ into an early lead against ‘Team Sweden‘ in their six-figure prop bet.

No PocketFiver enjoyed more success on 888poker in March than Russia’s ‘josef_shvejk‘, even though is month actually represents opportunity lost.
