The world’s largest online poker operator now has a new owner. The Stars Group, owner of PokerStars, has been acquired by Flutter Entertainment, owners of online gaming brands Paddy Power, FanDuel and BetFair, in a deal that creates the world’s largest online gaming company.
According to reports, the online bookmakers Paddy Power PLC and Betfair have entered into a merger, creating a formidable billion-dollar company in what is becoming an even more competitive industry.
On Thursday, Paddy Power issued a press releasewarning users of a “historical data breach” that occurred back in 2010. Four years later, Paddy Power is learning the “full extent” of the issue, which affected nearly 650,000 customers.
