The World Poker Tour and Theta Labs, a decentralized video delivery network, have announced an exclusive partnership aimed at giving poker fans the ability to own WPT digital collectibles in what the companies are calling “the world’s first real-time NFT marketplace.”

For the fourth time in 12 years, the World Poker Tour has new ownership. The WPT made the announcement on Tuesday that a private investment firm had purchased the company from Allied Esports Entertainment for more than $78 million.

The World Poker Tour and partypoker have tabled their hand with their summer plans. On Friday, the two premier poker brands announced the first-ever WPT World Online Championships, a nearly two-month-long online series that offers players a shot at becoming a WPT champion while guaranteeing $100,000,000 million in total prize money.

ClubWPT, the sweepstakes-based online poker membership club of the World Poker Tour, is upping its game for 2020. If a ClubWPT VIP member qualifies for a WPT Main Tour event and then goes on to win that WPT Main Tour event that they qualified, the qualifier will win an additional $1,000,000.

The World Poker Tour announced the core of their Season XVIII Main Tour schedule this week. The lineup includes 13 events in the United States plus another four international events as a part of their continued partnership with partypoker LIVE.
