April was a banner month for online poker in California. The dream of regulated online poker in the Golden State took a major step forward in the final week of April, as the Assembly Governmental Organization Committee passed AB 2863 unanimously, 18-0.
It’s probably a little too early to get super excited just yet, but Wednesday afternoon saw a California legislative committee pass a bill that would regulate online poker in the Golden State with some suggesting the law could pass in 2016.
A new bill in California that would license and regulate online poker would also make it a felony for players to play on an offshore online poker site – even before regulated sites are up and running.
