For all that Steve O’Dwyer has accomplished in his poker career, both live and online, he has never managed to win a PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker title. That all changed on Wednesday when he took down a Super High Roller event for the second-largest score of his online career.

O’Dwyer beat former #1-ranked Andras ‘probirs’ Nemeth heads-up to win Event #52 High ($25,000 NLHE Super High Roller) outright to earn $521,597.77 and his first SCOOP title. O’Dwyer’s only bigger online score came in 2018 when he won the partypoker Powerfest Super High Roller Championship event for $896,610.

Nemeth earned $403,096.26 for his runner-up performance and narrowly missed out on a two-title day. Nemeth won Event #52 Medium ($2,100 NLHE) for $157,734.78 to push his winnings for the day to more than $560,000.

Chun Lei ‘SamRostan’ Zhou finished in third place for $311,516.98.

A pair of former #1-ranked players battled for the title in Event #53 High ($2,100 Six Max Pot Limit Omaha 8-or-better). Patrick ‘pads1161’ Leonard outlasted Yuri ‘theNERDguy’ Dzivielevski heads-up to win the second SCOOP title of his career and $52,605.66. Dzivielevski took home $40,345.85 for his runner-up performance and fellow Brazilian Murilo ‘Muka82’ Figueiredo came in third place for $30,943.24.

England’s Tyler ‘wonderboy222’ Goatcher shipped Event #54-High ($1,050 NLHE) to add $107,503.65 to his bankroll. Joris ‘BillLewinsky’ Ruijs ended up with $80,159.99 as the runner-up and ‘IDontBlufM8‘ earned $59,771.46 as the bronze medalist.

Other players who picked up SCOOP titles on Wednesday included ‘O”Pazzzo”‘ (Event #52-L), ‘Kashmir_uzi’ (Event #53-L), Tobias ‘Senkel92’ Leknes (Event #53-M), ‘dmgs81’ (Event #54-L), and ‘vivaodesemprego’ (Event #54-M).
