PocketFives had the opportunity to chat with Siraka SirJWAB, a PocketFives member from Nevada since 2009. With lifetime earnings approaching $100,000, Sir is seen making many final tables on WSOP.com. Visit PocketFives’ Nevada poker community for the latest news and discussion from Nevada players.

PocketFives: Are you living in Nevada or visiting?

SirJWAB: I have been living here for eight years. I am originally from San Fernando Valley in California.

PocketFives: How did you choose your player name?

SirJWAB: Back in the day, it stood for “Jeremy Wants a Bongload” and it kind of stuck.

PocketFives: What do you base your current successes on?

SirJWAB: I feel like I have been playing really solid poker lately. I still have my spew monkey moments, but I have cut back on those quite a bit. Also, WSOP.com is very soft. There are a handful of players who know basic push/fold strategy when they are short-stacked. Also, there are very few people on the site who are willing to 3/4bet light, which makes playing against them pretty easy.

Another great feature on WSOP that helps me make money is the “bet pot” button. Players just love betting full pot with any hand. These players will blind out to 1-2 BBs to cash. And the fields never being over 200 people makes it easy to be consistent.

I am also really good friends with Zeppelinzoso and we discuss tricky spots a lot. Also, Kenny Rap gave me some pointers on how to play hands like AK/AQ JJ/10-10. It took me a long time to learn that just because you have AK doesn’t mean you have to be all-in pre.

PocketFives: What do you like best about playing online poker?

SirJWAB: I love the fact that sitting at home is way more “green-friendly” than the casino. I don’t have to go hide in my car or duck around the corner really fast, which makes it way more comfortable. Multi-tabling also makes it easier to not get bored.

PocketFives: What was you most memorable moment in 2014?

SirJWAB: Playing the Monster Stack at the WSOP. The atmosphere was so surreal and hearing that first place was over a million dollars got my nerves going. It was my first WSOP event besides the Employee Event and it was great.

PocketFives: Do you have any special plans for poker in 2015?

SirJWAB: I am finally going to get my $100K badge on here, which is sweet. Besides that, I want to try to play more of the live events that have big prizes up top. The roughest thing about playing online in America is we only have one tourney a week where first place is $5K+ and I work on that day. Working full-time limits my options on events I can play.

PocketFives: Is there anything else you would like to add?

SirJWAB: Shout out the Royal Sampler and the Mighty Mighty Chuch Crew. Big things coming boys!!! Bring back PokerStars juan time! Going from grinding PokerStars to WSOP.com is rough. Also, WSOP, if you are reading this, up those guarantees! If you raise them, the players will come.
