888poker Super XL: ‘Enigmasility’ Closes with Main Event Win, $262K


After ten days of grinding away in 55 different events, Sunday was the final – and biggest – day of the 888poker Super XL Series with 10 more events guaranteeing over $2.3 million in prize pools.

The highlight of the schedule though was the $1,050 buy-in Main Event. Topping the 1,096-player field was Belarussian ‘Enigmasility‘, who walked away with $262,000 for his efforts. Poland’s ‘GoMore21‘ finished runner-up for $190,500. The final table also included Dennis ‘casinopro888’ Berglin, Tomas ‘poohmanCZ’ Petru and Adrian ‘ADRI_ATM’ Mateos.

The 1,096 player field meant the event didn’t reach the $1.5 million guarantee and had an overlay of $404,000. None of the other nine events on the docket fell short of the guarantee.

The $215 Mega Deep had 1,080 players with ‘HappyHour4U‘ of the United Kingdom outlasting all of them to win $38,880. Austrian ‘88tiger889‘ ended up second for $27,712.80. Also making the final table was Peru’s ‘curioso24’. His fifth place finish was enough to help him qualify for the top 18 on the Super XL Series leaderboard and a spot in the Champion of Champions Tournament.

‘Corlusion‘, the #5-ranked player in Australia, won the $90 buy-in Sunday Challenge for $21,994.44. Alex ‘alexdimitrov’ Dimitrov, the current #4-ranked player in the world, briefly held the final table chip lead before finishing in fifth place for $6,110.40.

The smallest buy-in event of the series drew just over 5,000. The $5 Super XL Micro Main Event was won by ‘waffles10‘ after agreeing to a heads-up chop with runner-up ‘solnce2303’. ‘Waffles10’ left with $2,742.63 while ‘solnce2303’ earned $2,886.21.

Leaderboard

With the Series wrapping up, the top 18 players on the Super XL Leaderboard now move on to Tuesday’s Champion of Champions Tournament to play for one of three 2017 World Series of Poker packages.
