2015 WSOP to Feature the Colossus: $565 buy-in, $5M GTD

According to the Las Vegas Sun, more than 13,000 entrants are expected for The Colossus, which would push its prize pool to around $6.5 million. WSOP Vice President Ty Stewart said of the event, “Load up the entire gang – the home game, the spouse, whomever you know that enjoys the game. The Colossus is going to feature a historic prize pool at this buy-in level and it can only happen at the World Series of Poker.”
The 2015 WSOP will run fromMay 27 to July 14 from the Rio in Las Vegas. This is the 46th running of the tournament series and although there’s not a set event schedule yet, we do know that the $10,000 buy-in Main Eventwill take place from July 5 to 14. There will be three starting flights and the winner is once again guaranteed $10 million. The Millionaire Maker and Monster Stack, two highly attended events, will return.

WSOP officials expect at least 60 bracelet events and the final schedule will be released in January. The 2014 WSOP attracted 82,360 participants, the largest attendance in the WSOP’s 45-year history, and generated a prize pool north of $227 million. Participants in WSOP events hailed from 110 countries in 2014.
