Galfond Challenge: Perkins Starts with $1,561 Lead Over Galfond

The second edition of the ‘Galfond Challenge‘ kicked off on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Next up for Phil Galfond was a battle with Bill Perkins and various members of the Thirst Lounge team. The first day of play saw swings both ways before ultimately ending with Perkins grabbing a $1,561.86 lead.
Galfond and Perkins are scheduled to play 50,000 hands of $100-200 PLO or until one player loses $400,000, whichever comes first. The challenge is taking place on partypoker.
On Tuesday, Galfond streamed his side of play on the Run it Once Poker Twitch channel. He and Perkins played one table and the session lasted 388 hands.

Perkins jumped out to the early lead and began to extend the gap, which is something we’ve seen before as Galfond started off losing to ‘VeniVidi1993‘ in the first Galfond Challenge match. With Perkins up around $40,000-$50,000, the following hand came up that gave Perkins even more of a lead.
On the button, Galfond raised to $600 holding the and Perkins made the call. The flop came down
