‘Shantag67’ Wins PokerStars PA Bounty Builder Series Main Event
The PokerStars PA Bounty Builder online poker series came to a conclusion Sunday as ‘Shantag67’ outlasted the 405-entry field in the $100,000 guaranteed Main Event to take home a payday worth $18,406.
The 11-day series, which was comprised of 32 Progressive Knockout tournaments, came with an advertised guarantee of $500,000 in total prize pools. However, the enthusiastic online poker community in the Keystone State helped crush that number by registering for a total of 11,0333 entries and generating $668,241.81 in total prize money.
’Shantag67’ walked away with the biggest payday of the series with the victory in the Main Event. They took home $7,912.08 for first, plus an additional $10,494.50 in bounties. ‘UnitedWeZag’ finished as the runner-up, pulling in $7,911.74 + $2,973.91 in bounties just ahead of ‘spechuul’ who walked away with the bronze for $4,692.18 + $1,093.75 in bounties.
It was evident that the series would be a success as by taking a look at the very first event. In Event #1 ($100 NLHE Kick-Off), 262 players piled into the tournament lobby crushing the $20,000 guarantee with a total prize pool of $33,323.40. In the end, ‘Aerarcher9162’ went the distance, picking up $2,347.81 + $3,521.22 for first place. They defeated ‘WeWantWhiskey’ in heads-up play, who finished in second place and added $2,347.59 + $91.80 in bounties to their bankroll.
Of the 32 events, 30 bested their guarantee. One of the tournaments that provided players a little extra value in the form of an overlay was Event #11 ($100 NLHE Sunday Special). The 470 runners generated a prize pool of $43,146 (without rake included), $6,854 short of the event’s $50,000 guarantee. ‘Jmlorzy’ took full advantage of the overlay and secured $3,791.69 + $3,468.81 in bounties for the win. ‘UnitedWeZag’, who found themselves once again in contention for a Bounty Builder title, was denied. They finished as the runner-up for $3,781.22 + $1,030.58 in bounties. ‘aldrich801’ fired a second bullet and used it to climb to third place earning $2,001.57 + $206.56 in bounties for the bronze.
A pair of High Roller tournaments also provided some of the biggest payouts of the week. ‘KnightsofNight’ rose to the top of the 88 player field in Event #13 ($250 NLHE Sunday High Roller) to capture the first-place prize of $2,143.67 + $2,937.94 in bounties. Days later, ‘and_porter’ outlasted the 41 entries in Event #18 ($750 NLHE High Roller Six Max) to earn $6,620.60 + $6,212.49 in bounties, the second-largest total cash of the series.
‘HotEuroWife’ was the only two-time winner of the series. Early in the series, they were crowned the winner in Event #9 ($10 NLHE Sunday Storm Six Max) earning $402.86 + $277.49 in bounties. Then, they parlayed that victory into another win in Event #19 ($50 NLHE Six Max) and took home $1,055.69 + $1,529.95 in bounties as part of a deal with three players left.
