Just one day after one former PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker Main Event champion took down a 2020 SCOOP event, another former Main Event winner did it again. Mustapha ‘lasagnaaammm’ Kanit, who won the SCOOP Main Event in 2015, won Event #24 High ($10,300 NLHE High Roller) for $271,790.44.
The event attracted 124 of the best poker players in the world for a $1.24 million prize pool. Runner-up Sergei ‘Futti18’ Koliakov walked away with $210,580.76 while Luke ‘Bit2Easy’ Reeves got his day off to a strong start by finishing third for $163,156.10.
Reeves’ strong day continued with a victory in Event #26 High ($2,100 Six Max NLHE) where he outlasted 309 other players to take home the title and $116,166.69. His total winnings on the day were nearly $280,000. Ole Schemion narrowly missed out on his second SCOOP title of the year, coming in second for $84,579.28 and Bertie ‘bigstealer’ Bayley earned $61,581.00 as the third place finisher.
Split pot game enthusiasts were out in full force for Event #28 High ($1,050 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo). ‘MachineGunMK‘ topped the 117-player field to win a SCOOP title and $28,665. Runner-up ‘WjWeng‘ earned $19,890 and third place finisher Robert ‘Little Kraut’ Deppe had to settle for 15,210.
