SCOOP: Former #1-Ranked Chris Oliver Wins $1K PKO for $190K

It’s been almost nine years since Chris Oliver took over the #1 spot on PocketFives for the first time. On Sunday, Oliver showed the world that while it’s been a minute since he was on top, he’s still capable of closing down a big tournament.

Oliver beat 1,325 other players to win Event #27 High ($1,050 No Limit Hold’em PKO) for
$190,049.96. It’s his biggest score since taking down a World Championship of Online Poker High Roller event last September. ‘YseRussia’ finished as runner-up and earned $97,971.78 while Danish grinder ‘Renevat1o’ ended up in third for $69,297.62.

Ukranian ’10YURA10′ earned $66,719.39 for winning Event #26 High ($530 Deep Stacks No Limit Hold’em). Luan ‘Psuedo Fruto’ Felipe added $48,938.03 to his bankroll thanks to his runner-up finish and ‘Maty25’ wound up with $35,895.94 as the third place finisher.

Andreas ‘Skjervøy’ Torbergsen was the biggest winner on the day. The Norwegian topped the 201-player field in Event #28 High ($5,200 Six Max Pot Limit Omaha) to win $197,209.02. Runner-up ‘munkkis’ earned $151,407.37 while former #1-ranked Joao ‘IneedMassari’ Simao finished third for $116,243.22.
