PokerStars Increases PACOOP Guarantees After Big Opening Weekend
After two days and eight events that all easily surpassed the guarantees, PokerStars PA has upped the guarantees for the ongoing Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker by $125,000.
The eight events on Saturday and Sunday beat their posted guarantee by an average of 66.77%. Things got off to a rousing start on Saturday when Event #1 ($100 Nightly Stars PACOOP Warm-Up) drew 546 runners to create a $50,122.80 prize pool on a $20,000 guarantee. The next day, Event #3 ($100 Eight Max Deepstack NLHE) drew 377 runners for a $34,608.60 prize pool on a $15,000 guarantee.

Nineteen of the 42 remaining events now have larger guarantees, including the Main Event, which got the biggest bump of all going from $100,000 to $125,000. The total guaranteed for PACOOP is now $1.125 million. Thanks to these increases, the Pennsylvania series is now bigger than the recently completed New Jersey Championship of Online Poker which had a $100,000 guaranteed Main Event and $1,000,000 guaranteed overall.

The first event with an increased guarantee is Event #14 on December 4 which went from $20,000 to $25,000.
Along with the $25,000 increase for the Main Event, two other events saw their guarantees increased by five figures. Event #24 ($100 Marathon NLHE) went from a $10,000 guarantee to a $25,000 guarantee and Event #32 ($200 Super Tuesday SE) had its guarantee bumped from $40,000 to $50,000.
