Sunday was supposed to be a huge day for the World Series of Poker Online on GGPoker. After hosting multiple starting flights over the last five days, the online poker site and host of 54 bracelet events was forced to postpone all of Sunday’s bracelet events until next Sunday because of what the company called a ‘critical bug’ in their software.

The day started with 3,684 players returning for the final day of the Event #32 ($100 The Opener) from 29,306 that fired the Day 1 flights all week and also included Event #33 ($1,111 Every 1 for COVID Relief) which was supposed to play down to a final table. Both events are now scheduled to run Sunday, July 26 at the same time.

PLAYERS:

We apologize for everything that has happened today. A critical bug has been found, and we need to postpone WSOP Event #32 and #33 to next week at the same start time.

The decision to postpone the two events came after multiple delays for each event. The restart of The Opener was delayed an hour while the COVID event suffered a similar, but shorter delay.

The company later confirmed that the bug in question was related to server issues caused by larger-than-expected fields.

The bug was caused by an overwhelming number of players joining The Opener and other side events. The tournament servers were unable to resume due to high loads. We will increase more capacity (we just doubled it) to make sure future events run smoothly

The players still in Event #32 are being given $100 in tournament credits and the event will continue next Sunday. The company also announced they would double the charitable donation from Event #33 to $354,756. Both events will restart next Sunday with players holding the same stack as when the postponement occurred. Event #32 will resume on July 26 at 2:30 PM ET while Event #33 will resume on July 26 at 2:00 PM ET.

Event #34 ($525 Super Turbo Bounty NLHE Six Max) continued to run interrupted and a bracelet is expected to be awarded at the end of the evening.
