Since, Jared Hopping was introduced to Poker in 2006, he has risen from the ranks to become one of the top online players in Australia. Learning the trade from his mentors, Tony G and Tim Rosen, Jared or J-Hop Chisel as he is known online quickly proved himself to be the real deal, winning his maiden NL Hold 'Em $5 tournament, defeating the highly regarded grippenlake1, to collect his first victory, a modest $92. But there was much more to come... In 2007, J-Hop become the first player to defeat the infamous POTRIPPER in a Heads Up No Limit High Stakes Grudge Match. The match lasted almost 24 hours before POTRIPPER misread his own hand for a nut flush, when he only had J high. In 2008, J-Hop won his first Aussie Daily, collecting himself a healthy $2,000 profit and a whopping 33 player points, which he went on to turn into $4.25 in that night's Green Room. It was at this stage that J-Hop really found his game... the Pot Limit Hi/Lo 7 Card Stud Short Handed Deep Stack Playmoney Freeroll. This is where he struck his greatest victory, proving himself to be massive fish by continually cracking aces with his low pockets. "Bye now, you fish" became his catch cry, as he sent wave after wave of players out of the tournament with his dynamic check, fold maneuvers, and the dreaded fold-raise maneuver that had everyone confused. 9-time bracelet winner, Phil Helmuth says that J-Hop is "one of the greatest young players going around". The young Australian capped his brilliant rise to stardom in 2008, defeating Helmuth in a Heads Up match in Sydney, coming from a 8 to 1 chip disadvantage to defeat the professional, finally winning with his favourite hand 68 suited in spades. At which point, J-Hop stood up and shouted "Thank you... For chips I mean." This sent Helmuth on tilt, a tilt which he remains on o this very day.
